**NOTE TO PARENTS AND STUDENTS**

Each year, our Visual Arts students have participated in the River of Words International Environmental Project. We have had state winners in this contest three times! Unfortunately, the contest administrators have changed the due date for the work from when it was last communicated. As a result, we will not be able to participate, even though our 6th grade class was already working on their entries. This is a most frustrating experience for me, as well as for the students. They will still be able to enter their pieces in our student exhibition, and I will encourage them to consider using the entries NEXT year for the River of Words contest.
