1st Period Art/6th Grade Beginning
Signature paintings are hanging in the lower level hallway. They are so colorful and energizing! Students are now experimenting with line, pattern, and color. From an abstract repetitive design, they will create an integrated painting.
3rd Period Art/7th Grade Intermediate
The charcoal drawings based on organic line are just gorgeous! Very Asian/meditative in feel, they are hanging in the hallway on the lower floor. Next, students must add inorganic line to a contour drawing - a shoe! This is a challenging but very rewarding project.
5th Period/8th Grade Advanced
Sketchbook exercise #1 was due today.

Once the lobby windows are completed, the class will start a project in utilizing a variety of edges, known as contour in art terms.
6th Period/Digital Studio
This week students progress from learning what all the camera symbols mean to using iPhoto for uploading and cataloguing photos.
8th Period/Yearbook
After some excellent discussions on concept and sequencing, the class took a look at what makes a page design work. Understanding basic design principles is an advantage to creating pages that are visually appealing. We will be learning the Jostens software very soon!
