6th Grade/Beginning: After completing a variety of exercises and sketches on planear and cylindrical objects, students will begin a fun unit on textures and weaving.
7th Grade/Intermediate: Work on the Fauve style self-portraits continues. Soon students will move to composition and balance in both 2-D and 3-D.
8th Grade/Advnaced: The Calder structures are beautiful. Stabiles are in the Media Center, mobiles are hanging in the art room. After seeing our visiting Japanese Cultural Ambassadors, students have begin a unit on origami and kirigami. The unit is a tough, complicated, but fun integration of geometry.
See the link to the left for the ethical thinking Sketchbook Exercise due 12/1.
Digital Studio: Fabulous personal logo designs are hanging in the lower hallway. The images look as if they are a breeze to produce but, aren't! Their simplicity hides how complicated the software is that we use to create them. Students are also wrapping up a photography project based on the Hebrew Alef-Bet.
