Beginning/6th Grade: The students have completed their art history essays, are finding images to accompany the written work, and will soon hang a "real" art history timeline based on their own research. In addition, work on learning design principles continues, with the study of value winding down, and the study of form-making (understanding planes) gearing up.

Intermediate/7th Grade: Following the completion of a fascinating integration of art and probability, students combine the Fauve style with grid composition (Pierre Bonnard, Chuck Close) to make a self-portrait collage. This project takes a long time, with a lot of patience and attention to detail. When done correctly, the images are beautiful.

Advanced/8th Grade: Continuing the unit on Calder, students are juggling construction of a mobile and stabile. Additionally, all the ceramic containers survived their bisque fire (YAY!) and will be glazed later in the week.

Digital Studio: Students have begun brainstorming ideas for creating a personal logo. They will use the multitude of tools they have learned in Illustrator to create a marketable design. This project will alternate with a photography project centered on images beginning with each letter of the Hebrew alphabet (alef-bet).

Yearbook: Students are waiting on pins and needles for the portrait photos, and continue to place casual shots as more images come in.
