WEEK OF SEP 8 - 11
PLEASE NOTE: My tutoring hour has changed to Mondays 3:15 - 4:00pm.

1st per/Yearbook: Continue integrating the theme (adding text) into the layouts. Our portraits will be taken next week. Remember that if you have specific ideas for photos we need to get the list to Dr. Hertz or Mrs. Stein. We help you schedule the photography.

Cover art: continue with design graphic

3rd per/6th Gr Beginning: Seeing and understanding negative space. For the final project of this unit, remember these three requirements: you must include a minimum of three objects, the image must fill the page, all the negative spaces must be painted in the same temperature. DO NOT PAINT THE POSITIVE SPACE!! Leave it white.

4th per/7th Gr Intermediate: After spending the first weeks of school getting back into the drawing brain, we shift to a fun but loud 3-D project: leather tooling.

6th per/8th Gr Advanced: Sketchbook assignment DUE FRIDAY 9/11: FREE DRAW WEEK! Fill 3 pages in your sketchbook with anything you want. Really!!

In class, we have two projects going on simultaneously. The annual painting of the lobby windows has begun. For the students who are not painting on a particular day, a surrealist image of journaling juxtaposed with a collage is where you are headed. You may use music lyrics as a starting point for your writing, but the lyrics may not REPLACE your writing.

8th Per/Digital Studio: Fabulous job on the WANTED! posters! Now you will learn about cutting and rearranging images in a "Split-personality" project.
