WE DESPERATELY NEED NEW SMOCKS!!! PLEASE DONATE OLD BUTTON DOWN SHIRTS TO THE ART DEPARTMENT...YOUR UNIFORMS WILL THANK YOU!
1st per/Yearbook: Check your pages DAILY for notes and issues that need to be resolved.
3rd per/6th Gr Beginning: Art History Unit! You have a genre to research. You have been given the essay instructions, a rubric on which you will be graded, and resources to utilize. READ, READ, READ, the instructions and the resources. LOOK at paintings/sculptures of the time period.
If you are not on the computers (see the class lists for who is on which days) you should be completing your color theory paintings, your entry for the CHOA Greeting Card contest, then creating a contest entry for the Humane Society's Be Kind to Animals contest. I will approve a draft before you receive the large paper.
4th per/7th Gr Intermediate: Excellent work on the perforated images. It was tough to create art before the modern technological world came about!
Next, we have almost completed the study of the Color Field Painters of the Abstraction movement. Group paintings are complete, and individual paintings are almost done as well.
If you have completed the painting, finish your entry for the CHOA Greeting Card contest. When that is finished, begin practicing gesture and figure drawing based on the positions of other students in the room. We will go back to figures and faces on 2/1, completing the study of figures by 2/5.
6th per/8th Gr Advanced: You have wowed everyone who has seen the Famous Americans portraits (pastel on black paper.) You should be completing your collage, then adhering the portrait.
Once complete, research and practice drawing olive trees. We will soon be doing a tree project.
SKETCHBOOK due 2/1; draw an imaginary figure that is half human, half animal.
8th Per/Digital Studio: Thank you to this class for putting the iMovie project on hold as the 7th grade finished the canvas paintings. Logistics were quite a challenge, so we switched gears to complete a project that was originally planned for later in the year. Once the Creative Thinking Behind the Lens images are printed and mounted, (you should have 13 images total) we will go back to the iMovies.
