Week of October 5 - 9

Students and Parents: I will be on the 6th Grade Field Trip this week, and will not have access to email.

OH NO!!!!!! For some reason, the load of ceramics that was bisque fired did not survive. My guess is that the pieces were not completely dry, even though it appeared they were. Not to worry...we'll try again soon. Be aware, though, that the grades for these projects will not appear until second quarter.

1st Period Yearbook:
8th grade team: As soon as we have approval to use the students emails, send out the questionnaire.

Everyone: Remember to put the background of the first page of your section at 100% opacity. Each page thereafter should be more transparent. We'll make a final decision about the appearance of the page numbers on Monday, then everyone will use the same style.

4th Period/Intermediate (7th gr): Keep working on your shoe painting. When you have completed the background, and the piece is dry, go back over the contour and details with Sharpie.

If you finish your shoe painting, begin working on your Art History project. Pink packet and green information sheets are on the round table. Remember, you must compile a bibliography. Use the conventions for citation listed on the links to the right, or use the MLA Style Handbook if you own one.

6th Period/Advanced: You are working on your mobiles. The first version must intersect at some point, and must have movement in two directions.

You will be making a second mobile using a theme with clay pieces. Be thinking about your theme.

SKETCHBOOK due 10/12: Draw a portrait of something living. This may be a person, an animal or a plant. Drawing a portrait means you must capture the personality in the image. Do NOT draw from a photograph.

8th Period/Digital Studio (7th graders only): For Tuesday through Friday, go to room 219 to spend the week with the Film and Video class.
